Sometimes you think you know exactly what you want and don’t want at your birth. Sometimes you change your mind… at the last minute. I received the call from this Mom 14 hours before she was scheduled to have a cesarean section asking if I could be there to photograph the birth of their baby. Everything worked out wonderfully (thanks to my amazing friend) and some last minute rearranging. Goes to show it is never too late to change your mind and you shouldn’t be afraid to ask for what you want (a reoccurring theme at this birth).
Birth photography is so intimate. I loved watching how her husband supported her, how he kindly and in a matter-of-fact tone explained to the OR nurse that the baby would be staying with mom the whole time, and was there listening to what his wife needed at that moment. Kudos to the staff at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins for listening to the family and meeting their needs even when it created minor inconveniences for your staff.
Without further ado… Welcome Henry!
For the past 11 years, I have been working to create a full-time, profitable photography…

Thanks, Sarah, for taking such GREAT photos of my new grandson, Henry!!! It made me cry!!
Sarah was spectacular at Henry's birth. She was so warm, comforting, and kind. I would highly recommend her as a doula as well and a photographer. Her work is amazing, and she is incredibly professional. A class act all the way around.
Beautiful! Thank you so much.

Words I rarely here these days... Poudre & the Fort. Makes me nostalgic and a little homesick. I went to school at CSU and loved the area. :)
As for the imagery - oh wow, Sarah... I am so glad you were able to be there. You captured this amazing time so perfectly. I'm sure mom and dad will be thrilled with the photos!
